First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a gel called Mucogyne Gel as a moisturizer for women with vaginal dryness, no matter the cause. Thirty-four women applied the gel inside the vagina 2 to 3 times a week for 5 weeks. Doctors checked vaginal health and women reported pain levels to see if the gel helped.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Mucogyne Gel (a moisturizing gel applied inside the vagina)
What this could lead to
If it works, this gel could offer a non-hormonal option to relieve vaginal dryness and discomfort.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 34 women. Results may not apply to everyone, and the gel may not work for all causes of dryness.
