This observational study uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to track how fat and muscle distribution changes in adults with obesity who undergo bariatric surgery. Participants receive MRI scans before surgery and at 1, 6, and 12 months after to measure visceral fat, subcutaneous fat, muscle volume, and fat in the liver and kidneys. The goal is to link these detailed body-composition changes with improvements in metabolic health, such as blood sugar control.
