Laser zaps prostate cancer with pinpoint accuracy
NCT ID NCT02600156
Summary
This small pilot study tested a new, targeted laser treatment for men with low-to-intermediate risk prostate cancer. Using real-time MRI guidance, doctors aimed to precisely heat and destroy only the cancerous tumor area, sparing the rest of the prostate. The main goals were to see if the procedure was safe and if doctors could accurately target the cancer with the laser.
