MRI spots hidden breast cancers in women with nipple discharge

NCT ID NCT02819362

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether an MRI can detect breast cancer in women who have abnormal nipple discharge but normal mammograms and ultrasounds. 70 women with single-pore, non-milky, non-green discharge were given an MRI. The goal was to see how often a normal MRI meant no cancer was present. The results could help avoid unnecessary surgeries.
