New immune therapy combo aims to keep myeloma in check
NCT ID NCT06353022
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether using teclistamab or talquetamab (immune cell redirectors) after initial treatment can improve outcomes for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma. 103 patients receive either teclistamab with lenalidomide or teclistamab with talquetamab, depending on their minimal residual disease (MRD) status. The goal is to achieve and maintain MRD negativity, which indicates very low levels of cancer cells.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Teclistamab and talquetamab (immune cell redirectors) with lenalidomide
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to a more personalized maintenance strategy that improves long-term control of multiple myeloma and reduces the chance of relapse.
- What could go wrong
- This is a phase 2 trial with only 103 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The treatments can cause serious side effects like infections and immune reactions.
