Artery size may predict cancer spread in rectal cancer patients
NCT ID NCT07419516
First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at 690 rectal cancer patients to see if the size of the middle rectal artery (MRA) on MRI scans could help predict whether cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes. The goal was to create a model that helps doctors decide on the best surgery approach. The study found that certain factors, including MRA diameter, may be linked to lymph node spread, but it was an observational study, not a treatment trial.
