Researchers map hidden eye damage from mpox outbreak
NCT ID NCT06579885
Summary
This study aimed to understand how often mpox (monkeypox) causes eye problems and what types of complications occur. Researchers examined 320 people with confirmed mpox infections in remote areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo, checking their eyes at enrollment and following some patients for up to 59 days. The goal was to gather information about eye health in mpox patients to help guide future medical care and understand the full impact of the disease.
