First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether a drug called moxidectin works better than the standard drug ivermectin for treating lymphatic filariasis, a parasitic disease spread by mosquitoes. 164 adults in Ghana received one of four single-dose drug combinations. Researchers checked if the treatment cleared the parasites from the blood over 12 to 36 months.
