New therapy mimics baby movements to boost brain development in preterm infants
NCT ID NCT07449312
First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests a therapy for very preterm babies (born before 32 weeks) who show abnormal movements. The therapy involves gently guiding the baby's movements to mimic normal patterns, with parents trained to continue at home. Researchers will compare motor development at 3 months and 2 years between babies receiving usual care plus this therapy versus usual care alone. The goal is to see if this early intervention reduces the risk of developmental issues like cerebral palsy.
