First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests a patient-centered counseling method called motivational interviewing to help teenagers aged 14-19 improve their oral hygiene while wearing braces. Fifty participants will receive supportive, non-judgmental conversations about setting oral health goals, instead of standard education alone. The goal is to see if this approach reduces plaque, gum inflammation, and cavities over six months.
