First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at 24 national-level male rowers to see how their motivation and body chemistry change during intense exercise. Participants completed a motivation questionnaire, performed a 6000-meter rowing test, and had blood samples taken before, right after, and one hour after exercise. Researchers measured hormones and brain chemicals like testosterone, cortisol, serotonin, and dopamine to understand how they relate to performance and recovery.
