Summary

This study tests whether training mothers to measure their child's mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) each week can spot severe malnutrition relapse sooner. Children aged 6 to 59 months who have recently recovered from severe acute malnutrition are enrolled. Mothers learn to use a simple tape measure and refer their child if the measurement drops below a safe threshold. The goal is to see if this mother-led screening leads to faster detection and treatment of relapse compared to standard care.
