Morning lifts, afternoon wins? the science of priming judo performance
NCT ID NCT07754669
First seen Aug 10, 2026 · Last updated Aug 11, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study explores whether a morning session of contrast training—combining heavy lifts with explosive jumps and throws—can enhance judo-specific performance later that afternoon. Competitive judokas aged 18 to 22 will complete the morning workout and then be tested on a judo-specific fitness test to see if their performance improves. The goal is to understand if this 'delayed potentiation' effect exists and whether it differs between male and female athletes.
