First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether montelukast, a drug already used for asthma, can reduce heart muscle damage in people having a major heart attack. About 512 adults with a specific type of heart attack will receive montelukast or a placebo alongside standard treatment. The goal is to see if the drug helps the heart heal better and prevents long-term complications like heart failure.
