Quick heart check for Moms-to-Be using meth: could it save lives?
NCT ID NCT07309757
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study aims to see if a simple bedside heart ultrasound, done by an obstetrics provider, can detect heart problems in pregnant women who use methamphetamine as accurately as a full heart ultrasound. Researchers will compare the quick test with standard methods like ECG and blood tests. The goal is to develop a practical screening tool for rural hospitals where access to full heart imaging is limited.
