Could an electric suit help stroke and MS patients move better?
NCT ID NCT07333222
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing a wearable suit called Mollii that uses mild electrical stimulation to improve mobility and quality of life in people who have had a stroke or have multiple sclerosis. Forty participants will wear the suit for one hour, three times a week for four weeks. Some will get active stimulation, while others receive a placebo (suit turned off) to see if any benefits are real or just a placebo effect.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Mollii neuromodulatory suit (garment with electrical stimulation)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a non-drug option to improve movement and daily function for people with stroke or multiple sclerosis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 40 participants. The placebo effect may play a big role, and results may not apply to all patients.
