First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at two ways to treat severe gum disease that has reached the area where the roots of back teeth split. One approach uses non-surgical cleaning and maintenance, while the other involves surgery to reshape or rebuild bone. The goal is to see which method helps keep the tooth alive longer over 5 years. About 59 adults with advanced gum disease and at least one affected molar will take part.
