Van clinic hits the streets to fight HIV and opioid crisis among vulnerable women
NCT ID NCT06187064
Summary
This study tested a mobile pop-up clinic in Seattle to provide healthcare to women who inject drugs and exchange sex. The van offered HIV prevention medication (PrEP), treatment for opioid addiction, and rapid testing for sexually transmitted infections. Researchers wanted to see if this convenient, community-based approach made it easier for women to start and continue these important health services.
