NCT ID NCT06812884
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether giving patients a mobile app with educational information before kidney stone surgery could reduce their anxiety, fear, pain, and time in the hospital. 68 adults scheduled for surgery were randomly assigned to either receive the app or standard care. Researchers measured anxiety, fear, pain levels, painkiller use, hospital stay length, and complications up to one month after surgery.

Active substance
mobile application education
What this could lead to
If effective, this mobile app could become a simple, low-cost way to help patients feel less anxious and recover more comfortably after kidney stone surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a small, single-center study with only 68 participants. The results may not apply to all patients or hospitals, and the app's benefits might be modest.
