First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether using mixed reality (a blend of real and virtual environments) can improve hand strength, coordination, and quality of life in people with multiple sclerosis. Thirty participants will either receive standard physiotherapy or standard therapy plus mixed reality exercises using Meta Quest 3 glasses. The trial lasts 10 weeks with a one-month follow-up.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

mixed reality exercises using Meta Quest 3.0 glasses combined with conventional physiotherapy

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a new, engaging way to improve hand strength and daily function for people with multiple sclerosis.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 30 participants. The mixed reality approach is new for MS, so results may not be generalizable or show clear benefit over standard therapy.
