New hope for toddlers with bladder nerve damage: mirabegron trial launches

NCT ID NCT05621616

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a liquid medicine called mirabegron in children aged 6 months to 3 years who have bladder problems due to nerve damage (neurogenic detrusor overactivity). The goal is to see if the medicine helps the bladder hold more urine safely, reducing leaks and pressure. Children take the medicine once daily for up to a year, starting with a low dose that may be increased. The study involves about 7 participants who already use a catheter to empty their bladder.
