Heart health advice misses the mark for ethnic minorities, study aims to find out why
NCT ID NCT07672054
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will interview 15 people from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK who have heart disease. The goal is to understand their views on the diet and lifestyle advice they get from doctors, and whether it fits their cultural and religious customs. Researchers hope to learn how to make advice more relevant and helpful for these patients.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors give more culturally appropriate diet and lifestyle advice to minority heart patients, potentially improving their health outcomes.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-stage interview study with only 15 participants, so findings may not apply to all minority groups or lead to immediate changes in care.
