NCT ID NCT07544238

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study follows 400 adults who are scheduled for minimally invasive hernia repair (using laparoscopy or a robot) to see how well the surgery works over 5 years. Researchers will check for hernia recurrence, complications, pain, and quality of life. Participants get standard care and extra follow-up visits, including a CT scan at one year.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

minimally invasive hernia repair (laparoscopic or robotic surgery)

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help surgeons understand which patients benefit most from minimally invasive hernia repair and improve long-term outcomes.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a test of a new treatment. It simply follows standard care, so it won't directly lead to a cure or new therapy. Results may not apply to all hernia types.
