New study aims to calm kids after surgery with smarter anesthesia
NCT ID NCT07635004
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether using a lower flow of the anesthesia gas sevoflurane can help children wake up calmer after surgery. About 80 children aged 2-10 having lower belly surgery will receive either minimal-flow or high-flow sevoflurane along with a nerve block. Researchers will measure agitation, nausea, and pain recovery, and follow up at 3 months to check for long-term pain.
