First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study explores whether an 8-week virtual mindful self-compassion program is practical and well-received by transgender and nonbinary young adults. Participants attend weekly 2.5-hour online classes plus a 4-hour retreat, practice daily exercises, and complete surveys over several months. The goal is to see if this approach is feasible and acceptable, not yet to measure its effectiveness.

Active substance
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a tailored mental health support option for transgender and nonbinary young adults, potentially improving emotional well-being.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study with no control group, so results may not prove effectiveness. The program requires a significant time commitment, which may limit participation.
