First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a 7-week mindfulness and compassion program (MCCP) for doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants who care for cancer patients. The goal is to see if it boosts positive emotions and reduces negative feelings like stress and burnout. 160 participants will be randomly assigned to either the program or no intervention, and researchers will measure changes in emotional well-being and professional quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Mindful Compassion Care Program (MCCP) - a structured group intervention combining mindfulness, compassion, and yoga practices
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a practical way to reduce burnout and boost compassion satisfaction for healthcare professionals caring for cancer patients.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial with no blinding, so results may be influenced by participant expectations. The program requires significant time commitment, which may limit real-world adoption.
