First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests a new brain-computer system called MindEx that uses four tiny brain implants to help severely paralyzed people control a computer just by thinking. Two participants will be implanted for up to six years to see if the system is safe and effective for tasks like typing, drawing, or playing games. The goal is to give people with paralysis more independence and a better quality of life.
