First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether being awake between 2:00 and 4:00 AM makes negative mood, poor decision-making, and suicidal thoughts worse. Adults who have had suicidal thoughts in the past six months will be tested in a lab and at home under different sleep conditions. The goal is to understand why late-night wakefulness may increase suicide risk.
