Can a specialized physiotherapy program ease migraine suffering?

NCT ID NCT07671703

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This pilot study tests whether a structured, evidence-based physical therapy program (including education, aerobic exercise, and relaxation) works better than standard physiotherapy for adults with migraine. About 195 participants aged 18-70 with a confirmed migraine diagnosis will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups for three months. The main goal is to see if the new program improves migraine-related quality of life, and researchers will also look at which factors predict treatment success.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
multimodal physiotherapy program (education, aerobic exercise, relaxation, manual therapy)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a structured, evidence-based physiotherapy option to improve quality of life for people with migraine.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study, so results may not apply broadly. The multimodal approach may not prove more effective than standard physiotherapy.
