NCT ID NCT06976801

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study compares two types of metal rods used to fix broken shinbones: a standard rod and a special rod that allows tiny movements (micromotion). The goal is to see which rod helps the bone heal faster and with fewer problems. About 372 adults with unstable shin fractures will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two rods, and their recovery will be tracked for up to a year.
