Summary

This study tests whether metformin, a diabetes medication, can help reduce weight gain caused by antipsychotic drugs in adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. About 100 participants will receive either metformin or a placebo for several months. The goal is to find a safe, effective way to manage obesity and related health problems in this often-overlooked group.
