Could a common diabetes drug help kids with cerebral palsy?

NCT ID NCT03710343

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This small study looked at whether metformin, a diabetes medicine, is safe and practical for children aged 5 to 18 with cerebral palsy. Only 3 children took part, and the main goal was to see if families would join and stick with the treatment. Researchers also checked if metformin might help with movement and thinking, but the study was too small to draw firm conclusions.
