Lipedema pain mystery: could your metabolism be the key?

NCT ID NCT07468097

First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at how metabolic factors like insulin resistance and body measurements relate to pain and nerve sensitivity in women with lipedema. Researchers will measure pain levels and central sensitization (a condition where the nervous system is overly sensitive to pain) in 59 women. The goal is to better understand these connections, not to test a treatment.
