Summary
This study tested whether a single group therapy session could help prevent depression and anxiety in women recently forced from their homes by the war in Ukraine. The therapy, called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), taught skills to manage difficult thoughts and feelings. Researchers enrolled 120 displaced women who were showing early signs of distress but did not yet have a diagnosed mental health disorder.
