Scientists probe hidden link between mood, midnight snacks, and heart health
NCT ID NCT07411222
Summary
This study aims to understand the connections between mental health, emotional eating, sleep quality, and the risk of developing metabolic syndrome (a cluster of conditions like high blood pressure and blood sugar) in people with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Researchers will survey 78 adults in remission from these conditions to see if eating in response to emotions and poor sleep act as links between mental state and physical health risks. The goal is to gather knowledge that could inform future strategies to improve overall health in this population.
