Phone app aims to ease mental health crisis for waiting youth

NCT ID NCT06239545

Summary

This study is testing whether a smartphone app called JoyPop can help young adults (ages 18-25) manage difficult emotions, stress, anxiety, and depression while they are on a waitlist for professional mental health services. Researchers in Northwestern Ontario will compare the app's effects to usual waitlist care. The goal is to see if the app can provide accessible support during a vulnerable time and potentially improve readiness for future treatment.
