Scientists hunt for brain fog clues in Graves' disease

NCT ID NCT05678374

Summary

This study aims to understand why some people with Graves' disease continue to experience mental fatigue even after their thyroid hormone levels have returned to normal. Researchers will compare 180 participants—some with Graves' disease and mental fatigue, some with Graves' disease without fatigue, and healthy individuals—looking for immune system markers in blood and spinal fluid that might explain this persistent symptom. The goal is to identify potential biological causes that could inform future treatments.
