Summary
This study examined 16 ICU patients with sepsis to see if specific memory immune cells (called Tcm and Tem) are linked to how severe the infection is and the risk of death. Researchers measured these cells in blood samples taken over 72 hours. The goal was to better understand the immune system's role in sepsis, not to test a new treatment.
