Scientists test 'Trainer' vaccine to arm body against returning skin cancer
NCT ID NCT01898039
Summary
This study is testing a new vaccine for people with melanoma who are at high risk of their cancer returning after surgery. The vaccine is made from specially modified melanoma cells designed to teach the patient's own immune system to recognize and attack any remaining cancer cells. Researchers will check if the vaccine is safe and if it triggers a strong immune response that could help keep the cancer away.
