Melanoma combo therapy trial halted early after 20 patients
NCT ID NCT04695977
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding an experimental drug (CMP-001) injected directly into tumors to the standard immunotherapy nivolumab works better than nivolumab alone for people with advanced melanoma that cannot be removed by surgery or has spread. The trial was stopped early and enrolled only 20 participants. The goal was to see if the combination could shrink tumors or delay cancer growth, but it is not a cure.
