Can phone apps and scanners spot skin cancer as well as a dermatologist?
NCT ID NCT03699995
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at whether three portable imaging tools—MoleMapper, Visiomed, and confocal microscopy—can help find melanoma early. Researchers compared the devices' accuracy to a dermatologist's exam in 17 people with suspicious moles. The goal was to see if these tools could be used outside a doctor's office to catch melanoma before it spreads.
