Calm your heart: meditation may ease surgery stress
NCT ID NCT07379944
Summary
This study is testing whether listening to guided meditation recordings can help reduce stress and anxiety in patients undergoing open-heart surgery. Researchers will compare 72 patients who receive the meditation sessions to those who receive standard care alone. They will measure stress hormones, blood sugar, anxiety, and pain levels before and after surgery to see if the meditation makes a difference.
