Shorter wait for abortion confirmation? study tests 2-Week test
NCT ID NCT06893484
First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a urine pregnancy test taken 2 weeks after a medication abortion can reliably show the abortion is complete, instead of the usual 4-week wait. About 400 people with very early pregnancies (up to 42 days) will take weekly pregnancy tests and answer symptom surveys for 4 weeks. The goal is to see if the 2-week test works as well as the 4-week test, which could reduce anxiety and speed up care.
