Summary

This study tests whether adding culturally tailored heart-health education to medically tailored meal programs helps people with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure eat better and improve their blood sugar and blood pressure. About 176 adults from low-income New York City neighborhoods will receive meals and some will also get cooking demos, recipes, and fresh produce. Researchers will track changes in diet, HbA1c, and blood pressure over 8 months.
