Can cannabis help break the pain pill cycle?
NCT ID NCT04827992
Summary
This study tested whether adding medical cannabis to a behavioral support program could help adults with long-term, non-cancer pain reduce their prescription opioid medication. 87 participants who were already taking high doses of opioids for pain were randomly assigned to either start using medical cannabis or to wait. Researchers measured changes in opioid use, pain levels, and quality of life over six months.
