Wearable sensors track apathy in dementia patients
NCT ID NCT02496312
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This pilot study tested whether wearable sensors and video recordings can accurately measure apathy in people with frontotemporal dementia compared to healthy volunteers. The goal was to see if technology can capture real-life behaviors like lying down, sitting, and energy use. Only 14 people took part, so the results are very early and not ready for widespread use.
