NCT ID NCT07595146

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a seven-session, telehealth-based therapy called Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy is practical and helpful for stem cell transplant survivors and their main caregivers. The program aims to help dyads stay connected to meaning, cope with difficult experiences, and communicate better during recovery. Researchers will enroll 100 patient-caregiver pairs to see if the therapy is acceptable and feasible, and to measure its impact on quality of life.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy (a talk therapy program delivered via telehealth)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a practical way to help stem cell transplant survivors and their caregivers feel less distressed and more connected during recovery.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early feasibility study, not a large trial. It may turn out that the therapy is not practical or doesn't provide meaningful benefit over usual care.
