Weekly surveys could help veterans with IBD stay healthier between doctor visits
NCT ID NCT07210580
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a program of weekly surveys can help veterans with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) feel better and avoid flare-ups. About 250 veterans at four VA hospitals will either get the usual care or also complete short weekly check-ins for 12 months. The goal is to see if this simple monitoring tool improves quality of life and helps care teams act faster when problems arise.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Measurement-Based Care (weekly surveys and feedback)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could give doctors a simple way to keep track of patients between visits, catching problems early and improving daily life for veterans with IBD.
- What could go wrong
- This is a behavioral study, not a drug trial, so the benefits may be modest. It is also limited to veterans at four sites, so results may not apply to everyone.
