First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving mothers extra oxygen during labor is safe and helpful for babies who show signs of distress on the heart monitor. About 2,100 women with a single, full-term pregnancy will be randomly assigned to receive either oxygen or regular air. The goal is to see if oxygen reduces serious health problems in newborns compared to room air.
