Cancer-ITP link: could platelet mimicry be the culprit?
NCT ID NCT06444477
First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at 33 adults who had both cancer and immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition where the immune system attacks platelets, causing low counts. Researchers wanted to see if cancer cells mimic platelets, tricking the immune system. They measured how often ITP improved after cancer treatment. The goal was to better understand the connection between solid tumors and ITP.
